Why We Think About Upgrades From Day One
One of the biggest advantages of PC gaming is that your system doesn't need to become obsolete every few years.
Take consoles for instance, every few years a new one arrives at a glorious fan fair, and you look at your perfectly adequate one sitting by your tv and think, well time to spend another £600-£800 on the new one. My question is why?
Why should playing the latest games mean replacing an entire system? PC gamers are no different. This is something we understand but don't think you should ever have to throw out the old one just to accommodate the next gen. We believe that you should be able to upgrade your computer when you need to, not when you're told to.
This is why we design our systems to have clear upgrade paths that can last multiple generations. This is why we chose AMD.
Why We Chose AMD
With AMD’s Previous Generation of socket, AM4, this lasted for 5 Generations and is still supported by AMD now even though they have moved on to AM5.
In fact AM4 is still that popular; they have released a number of new CPUs for it since the launch of AM5.
That is only the first part of the equation though giving customers the ability to keep their system for a long time. This is just the core part that allows us to build from there, knowing that your main system will be supported for up to a decade, AM4 was launched in 2017. This means that knowing the platform will be around for a long time means that we can plan for the future for our customers, not just the here and now.
Components That Stay With You
The component choice is something we take very seriously as well. We don’t use weird sketchy parts, this means that you as a customer can trust that the parts we use are able to move forwards with you for years.
In my own setup I have an NVME M.2 drive that has gone through 3 different builds now, this means that some parts will move with you for a long time.
In using the parts we do this means you can accomplish the same thing, parts like the NVME drives, Power supplies, RAM and even case, can move through your systems over the years meaning that getting a ‘new’ computer isn't a total rebuild it can be brought to the level you want with a simple GPU swap or CPU swap.
You might be thinking, "Why would I be worrying about upgrades when I'm buying a brand-new computer?"
We believe you should be able to upgrade your computer when you need to, not when you're told to. This means that we plan for this from day one. Whether you’re comfortable doing that yourself or using an upgrade service like ours, either way you should have the options available to you and not be limited by our choices, meaning you might have to replace most of the system, or even getting a new one, because we made a decision to buy cheap no name parts.
Upgrading When You're Ready
The reality of the PC gaming market is built around upgrading unlike the console world.
It is this that is one of the many reasons I love the PC space. The unending ability to keep expanding and upgrading my setup so that with every change you make you more perfect your set up for you. Unlike with consoles where you have to fit to the set up with PCs your build the set up to fit your needs and wants, and this is the thing that allows you to have any number of set ups that will fit your needs.
Why Customisation Matters
Different gamers have different priorities. That's why we offer both standardised systems and custom build options.
After all my needs are not the same as the next gamer, some focus on online shooter games, others prefer to play single player only games, some want to play retro games, every one is a different set up that is best suited to that need. Others prefer a console based experience some prefer a never ending ability to tinker with their operating systems. All of us get lumped into the one category but we are all very different and all of us have very different needs and wants.
Yet this poses an issue for us, we want to keep things simple and focus on ‘generic’ gaming ideas. Yet customisation allows us to develop systems for you that are incredibly specific. For instance if you want to play CS 2 we know that these games scale to unbelievable FPS rates when you add in an X3D CPU of any kind.
Upgradeability isn't about spending more money. It's about making the money you've already spent go further.

While you can play any game on most systems, those details come into account when we recommend systems and certain upgrades for our customers.
No one should ever need to become a PC expert to play games they want to play, that is our job we are here to know these things for you and allow you to play the games you want and not have to worry about the specs.
